You might remember Arjan*, pictured here at the time of his surgery….
By the time Arjan had been diagnosed with leprosy it had already caused damage to his body. He couldn't play football with his friends because his foot was dropping. And damage to his hand meant he could no longer button up his shirt. Other children in school used to exclude him, adding stigma and shame as he was trying to figure out what was wrong.
Thankfully Arjan was able to receive the healthcare he needed. His foot was operated on to restore strength and function, and his left hand was operated on six months later.
Arjan has not just been cured of leprosy, but his body has been restored in Jesus name! We are so thankful for the TLM staff in Bangladesh who got to meet Arjan and be a part of his healing journey.
This scripture from Isaiah comes to mind. It speaks not only of restoring buildings, but restoring dwelling places. God's restoration work is for the benefit of His creation. He cares for us, that we would be rebuilt and restored.
Continue to pray for Arjan as he has been restored to health and is thankful for your help.
Pray for his family and friends, that they would see the love of God through the support of The Leprosy Mission.
Pray for all those like Arjan, fearful for the future and their health at risk, that they could be found and cured of leprosy in Jesus name.
